Good news! Guangzhou Zoo, a trending destination nowadays, will welcome two new giant pandas this year.
To make full preparation for the arrival of the pair, a bamboo plantation base has been completed recently in Zengcheng forest farm, aiming to provide fresh and sustainable food source for pandas.
The first phase of the plantation covers approximately 50 acres, featuring three bamboo species favored by giant pandas, namely Bambusa vulgaris (or "Vittata"), Bambusa ventricosa and Pseudosasa japonica.
At the same time, construction of a new venue is currently in full swing for the two pandas.
"We're working to bring new pandas to Guangzhou this year!" said Xu Jianlin, deputy director of the Science Education Department of the zoo.
