This year, Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport has launched, resumed or increased frequency on nine international passenger routes, including those to Surabaya, Osaka and Bangkok. Additionally, two new international destinations have been added. On March 30, the airport opened three direct international routes — from Almaty, Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi to Guangzhou — in a single day.

As of March 31, the airport had handled over 4 million inbound and outbound passengers in Q1 2025, marking a 24.5% year-on-year increase.
