Guangzhou city is in no short supply of flowers throughout the year. In July, visitors can appreciate a sea of golden sunflowers against a backdrop of Canton Tower in Hongcheng Park (宏城公園) on Ersha Island. It is a visual feast of botanical beauty that combines with modern landmark.

Sunflowers are densely planted along many trails in the park, allowing visitors to get really close with flowers. The flowers, which stand approximately 50 centimeters tall, are particularly suitable for photographs with children.

Hongcheng Park, situated in the east part of Ersha Island, boasts many art statues and large flower fields of sunflower, corn poppy and coreopsis, attracting numerous shutterbugs and nature enthusiasts all year round.

Recommended time for photographing flowers is before 9 a.m. and after 4 p.m., so as to avoid high temperatures and make good use of the warm and soft sunlight.

1. Guangzhou Metro APM Line, Haixinsha Station, Exit A, then walk about 900 meters to the park

2. Guangzhou Metro Line 3, Canton Tower Station, then walk through the Haixin Bridge to the park
